Desalyne teaches under the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) international syllabus. As part of this, students are offered to take private or semi-private lessons where they learn a variety of set exercises and dances as part of an exam.
The jazz & tap exams can be taken when they are just starting out, all the way up until they are ready to take their teachers exam. This is not a compulsory avenue to take, and taking the exams themselves is a great way to improve technique, strength and stamina.
Students can take their exams in August or December each year. They are then given a grade and a trophy or medal, and are able to progress to the next level.
These classes are harder and a lot more disciplined than the general troupe classes and are generally invitation only. However, if you feel your child may be ready to take this next step, please contact us and we can discuss what we think would best suit your child.
